What is Monitor Test?

This tool fills your screen with test patterns to help you evaluate monitor quality. Solid colors reveal dead or stuck pixels (black dots on white, white dots on black, wrong-color subpixels). The 50% gray screen exposes backlight bleed, uneven brightness, and color shifts. Gradient ramps test smoothness and banding. Grid patterns check convergence and sharpness. Text charts verify readability at all sizes.

Everything runs locally in your browser. Press arrow keys to cycle colors, Space for fullscreen, Esc to exit. Use auto-cycle mode for hands-free testing.

FAQ

How do I check for dead pixels?
Cycle through solid white, black, red, green, and blue screens. A dead pixel appears as a black dot on white/colored screens. A stuck pixel shows the wrong color. Check every color to test all subpixels (RGB).
What does the grid test check?
The grid pattern tests monitor convergence (color fringing at edges) and sharpness. Lines should be crisp with no color halos. Uneven spacing or waviness may indicate geometry issues.
Is my screen data sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. No screen data, images, or diagnostics are ever uploaded or stored.
