What is Time Blindness Visualizer?
Time blindness is one of the most common and frustrating aspects of ADHD — the difficulty sensing how long tasks actually take. You might think writing an email takes 5 minutes when it regularly takes 20. Over time, this leads to overcommitting, lateness, and feeling like you never have enough time.
This tool helps you build self-awareness by logging your time estimates alongside the actual time tasks took. The horizontal bar chart makes the comparison visual and intuitive. The tool calculates your average underestimation ratio and gently suggests a buffer: if you typically underestimate by 1.5x, it recommends planning for 150% of your initial guess next time.
FAQ
- What is time blindness?
- Time blindness is the difficulty perceiving how much time has passed or accurately estimating how long tasks will take. It's very common with ADHD and can lead to chronic lateness, missed deadlines, and overcommitting. This tool helps you build awareness by comparing your estimates to reality.
- How is the buffer suggestion calculated?
- It looks at your average actual-to-estimate ratio across all logged tasks. If you typically take 1.5x longer than estimated, the tool suggests budgeting 150% of your estimate next time — so if you think something will take 30 minutes, you'd plan for 45 minutes.
- Is my data private?
- Yes. All your time logs are stored only in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is uploaded to any server. You can clear all data at any time with the 'Clear all data' link.
