How to use Electrical DB Builder

  1. Drag a Main Isolator or Main MCB as the incomer
  2. Add RCCB/ELCB for earth leakage protection
  3. Place MCBs for individual circuits (lights, sockets, etc.)
  4. Optionally add SPD for surge protection
  5. Click Generate Schedule to create the load schedule
  6. Export as text file for documentation

What is Electrical DB Builder?

This tool helps electricians and electrical engineers design distribution boards. Drag components from the palette onto the DB canvas, arrange them in the correct order (incomer → protection → final circuits), and generate a load schedule table with ratings, calculated loads, and recommended cable sizes.

FAQ

How is cable size calculated?
Cable size recommendations follow a simplified rule: 6A→1.5mm², 10-16A→2.5mm², 20-32A→4mm², 40-63A→10mm², 63A+→16mm². Always verify with local electrical codes.
Can I export the design?
Yes, click Export to download the load schedule as a text file. The schedule includes circuit numbers, component types, ratings, calculated loads, and cable sizes.
