  2. Toggle individual effects on/off — rotation, grayscale, noise, vignette, paper texture — and adjust sliders to fine-tune each effect.
  3. Preview the result in the before/after comparison, then click Download to save the processed PNG image.

What is Scanned Document Effect?

The Scanned Document Effect tool transforms clean digital images into documents that look like they were run through a flatbed scanner. This is ideal for creating mockups, design comps, or adding an authentic "scanned" aesthetic to digital content.

Each effect is individually toggleable: you can apply a slight rotation (the classic scanner misalignment), convert to grayscale for that black-and-white document look, add noise/grain to simulate scanner artifacts, darken the edges with a vignette, and overlay a subtle paper texture. The preview updates in real time so you can dial in exactly the look you want.

FAQ

Does this tool actually scan my document?
No — this tool applies visual effects to make a digital image LOOK like it was scanned. It does not interact with any physical scanner. The effects simulate the visual characteristics of a scanned document (slight rotation, grain, desaturation).
What image formats are supported?
You can upload any common image format — PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF — or paste an image URL. The output is always a PNG file for maximum quality.
Why does my image look different after processing?
The scanned effect applies multiple transformations: a slight rotation mimics the imperfect alignment of a scanner, grayscale removes color for a classic document look, noise adds graininess, vignette darkens the edges, and paper texture adds subtle surface variation. You can toggle each effect individually to find the right balance.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.
