How to use XML Sitemap Generator

  1. Paste your page URLs into the text area, one URL per line (must start with https:// or http://).
  2. Choose change frequency and priority, and optionally include today's date as the lastmod value.
  3. Click Generate Sitemap, then Download sitemap.xml or Copy XML to submit to your search console.

What is XML Sitemap Generator?

An XML sitemap tells search engine crawlers which pages exist on your site, how often they change, and their relative importance. Submitting a sitemap to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools ensures your pages are discovered and indexed efficiently — especially important for large sites or pages that are not well linked internally.

This tool generates a standard <urlset> sitemap conforming to the sitemaps.org protocol. Paste your URLs (one per line), choose options, and download the file. The generated sitemap is validated in-browser with no data sent to any server.

FAQ

What is the correct format for URLs in a sitemap?
URLs must be fully qualified with the scheme, e.g. https://example.com/page. Relative URLs like /page are not valid in sitemaps. This generator flags any URLs that cannot be parsed as valid absolute URLs.
What should I set for priority and changefreq?
Priority (0.0–1.0) is relative to other pages on your own site and is largely ignored by Google today. Changefreq hints how often content changes but is not a directive. Focus on accuracy: daily for news, weekly for blogs, monthly for static pages.
How do I submit the sitemap to Google?
Upload sitemap.xml to your website root so it is accessible at https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml. Then go to Google Search Console → Sitemaps and enter the URL. You can also reference it in your robots.txt file: Sitemap: https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml
