What is PDF Redaction?

Render the first page of your PDF and click-and-drag to create black redaction rectangles. Each rectangle appears in a list where you can delete it individually. Toggle Apply to all pages to place the same rectangles on every page. Important: this is visual redaction only — the underlying text still exists in the PDF stream. For truly secure redaction, use specialized tools that strip the content completely.

FAQ

Are my files uploaded to a server?
No — everything runs locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device.
Is this secure redaction?
No — this tool draws opaque black rectangles over the content, but the original text is still present in the PDF file and could be recovered with PDF inspection tools. For truly secure redaction, use a tool that removes the underlying text.
Can I redact specific pages only?
Currently the tool applies rectangles to either page 1 only or all pages. For per-page control, redact in batches or use a desktop tool.
