How to use Merge Lines

  1. Paste or type your multi-line text into the input box.
  2. Choose your separator from the dropdown — or select Custom to enter your own.
  3. Toggle 'Trim whitespace' to clean up extra spaces on each line.
  4. Toggle 'Remove empty lines' to skip blank lines.
  5. Copy the merged result from the output box.

What is Merge Lines?

Merge Lines takes multi-line text and joins it into a single line using a separator of your choice. This is useful for converting lists into CSV rows, combining addresses into a single string, joining query parameters, or formatting data for spreadsheets and databases.

The tool offers six preset separators (comma, space, semicolon, pipe, newline, custom) along with options to trim whitespace from each line and remove blank lines — giving you full control over the output format. Everything runs in your browser; no data is uploaded or stored.

FAQ

Can I use a custom separator?
Yes — select 'Custom' from the separator dropdown and type any character or string (up to 20 characters) in the field that appears.
What happens to trailing spaces?
When 'Trim whitespace' is checked, leading and trailing spaces on each line are removed before joining.
Does it handle Windows and Unix line endings?
Yes. Both CRLF (\r\n) and LF (\n) line endings are handled automatically.
