How to use PayPal Fee Calculator

  1. Enter the transaction amount.
  2. Set the percentage fee and fixed fee for your processor (defaults shown).
  3. Optionally tick gross-up to find the amount the sender must pay so you net the entered figure.

What is PayPal Fee Calculator?

Most payment processors charge a percentage of the transaction plus a small fixed fee. This calculator lets you enter both — the defaults match a common 2.9% + 0.30 structure — and shows the fee and the net amount you receive.

Tick the gross-up option to solve the reverse problem: enter the amount you want to receive and the tool calculates what the sender must pay so that, after fees, you are left with exactly that amount. The formula is send = (target + fixed) ÷ (1 − rate). Everything runs locally in your browser, and you can adjust the rates to match any processor.

FAQ

What are typical PayPal fees?
A common structure is 2.9% of the amount plus a fixed fee (around 0.30 in the sender's currency), but exact rates vary by country, transaction type, and account. Adjust the inputs to match your situation.
What does the gross-up option do?
It calculates how much the other person should send so that, after the fee is deducted, you receive the exact amount you entered. This is useful when invoicing clients who must cover the fee.
Is this an official PayPal tool?
No. It is an independent calculator. Always confirm current fees in your PayPal account, since rates change and vary by region.
