How to use Glitch Text Generator

  1. Type or paste your text into the Input textarea.

What is Glitch Text Generator?

Glitch text works by inserting Unicode combining characters (code points U+0300–U+036F) into the text stream after each base character. These marks are designed to overlay the preceding character, so piling them up causes letters to visually overflow into a chaotic, corrupted-looking style beloved in internet aesthetics, horror themes, and creative typography.

The three sliders control the maximum number of diacritics added above (ascending marks), in the middle (enclosing and overlay marks), and below (descending marks) each character independently. Higher values create a denser, taller glitch effect; setting all to zero removes the effect entirely.

The output is plain Unicode text that can be pasted anywhere that renders Unicode — social media posts, Discord messages, HTML pages, or image editing software. The visual effect may vary by platform and font.

Will glitch text display correctly everywhere?
The characters are valid Unicode, but the visual result depends on the font and platform. Most modern operating systems and browsers render Zalgo text correctly, though some apps may strip or truncate combining characters.
Why does the output look different in different apps?
Rendering is handled by each app's text engine and font. Some platforms normalise or limit combining characters, which can reduce the glitch height. The effect is typically most dramatic in web browsers and Discord.
Can I reverse or undo glitch text?
