We compute block counts based on the area occupied by a single block including its surrounding mortar joints:

Wall Area = Length (m) × Height (m)
Effective Block Length = (Length_mm + Mortar_mm) ÷ 1000
Effective Block Height = (Height_mm + Mortar_mm) ÷ 1000
Effective Block Area = Effective Block Length × Effective Block Height
Total Blocks Required = (Wall Area ÷ Effective Block Area) × (1 + Wastage_percent ÷ 100)
