How to use Voice to Text

  1. Choose your language from the dropdown.
  2. Toggle continuous mode on or off.
  3. Click Start Recording and allow microphone access.
  4. Speak clearly — your words appear live. Click Stop when done, then copy or edit the text.

What is Voice to Text?

The Web Speech Recognition API converts your spoken words into written text entirely in your browser. This API is currently supported in Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers. Firefox and Safari do not yet support speech recognition.

Enable continuous mode to keep listening after pauses, or turn it off for a single utterance. Select from multiple languages — the recognition engine uses Google's cloud-based models (requires internet). Your audio is streamed for recognition but no transcription data is stored by 1Stop Tools.

FAQ

Which browsers does this work in?
Only Chrome, Edge, and some Chromium-based browsers support the Web Speech Recognition API. Firefox and Safari do not. A notice appears if your browser is unsupported.
Does this work offline?
No. Speech recognition requires an internet connection as the audio is processed by Google's cloud speech recognition servers. Text-to-Speech (the reverse tool) works offline.
Is my voice data stored?
Audio is streamed to the browser's speech recognition service for real-time transcription only. 1Stop Tools does not store or record any audio or transcription data.
