What is Video to GIF Converter?

A Video to GIF converter transforms video sequences into compact, repeating image animations. Capturing frames from a video at controlled intervals is the first step in this process.

This tool extracts frames entirely in your browser using canvas capture. You can choose a starting point, length, and FPS density, then download individual high-quality JPEG stills. Animated GIF assembly runs on the server side and is coming soon in Phase 2.

FAQ

How are frames extracted?
The tool seeks through the video at exact intervals determined by the FPS rate. Each frame is drawn to a canvas and converted to a high-quality JPEG image in your browser.
Why is the GIF creation disabled?
Compiling animated GIFs client-side can be very CPU and memory intensive for browsers. High-quality GIF assembly requires server-side processing, which is coming soon in the next phase of updates.
What is the maximum number of frames I can extract?
To prevent browser crashes, extraction is limited to 150 frames per run. You can easily adjust the start/end times or FPS value to stay within this limit.
