What is PDF to Excel?

A PDF to Excel converter identifies tabular structures and lines of text inside a PDF, parses columns based on spacing/delimiters, and writes them into a standard spreadsheet grid. This avoids tedious manual copying and pasting of data from PDF invoices, reports, or lists.

This tool reads data via pdf.js and formats cells using SheetJS (xlsx). It supports custom column delimiters (spaces, tabs, commas, semicolons) or auto-detection, running entirely in-browser.

FAQ

How does the column detection work?
Our parser reads the text elements on each line of the PDF. By default, it auto-detects column divisions based on tab stops or gaps of multiple consecutive spaces. You can also force split on commas or semicolons.
Can I convert multiple pages into one sheet?
Yes. The converter extracts lines from all pages of the PDF and appends them sequentially into a single worksheet, adding page boundary markers so you know where each page starts.
Is my data private?
Yes. Since the entire operation runs in your browser using local Javascript libraries, your document's text and numbers are never sent to external servers.
