Under the Hood: Modular Components

We’ve spent the last few weeks refactoring the codebase for maintainability. Key changes:

  • Shared Dropzone component — 74 file-input tools now use a single _Dropzone.astro component instead of duplicated HTML
  • Status utility extracted — 112 tools now use a shared createStatusUpdater() function from status-utils.ts instead of inline setStatus() functions
  • Encoder family modularized — Base64, Base32, Base58, URL encoding, HTML entities, and binary/hex converters now share encode-utils.ts and base32-base58.ts
  • Construction calculator helpers — Shared calc-utils.ts with unit conversion, reinforcement tables, and calculations used across 15+ construction tools
  • Paper primitives system — 9 lined/graph/music paper generators now share paper-prims.ts for consistent rendering

These aren’t user-facing changes, but they mean we can ship new tools faster and keep behavior consistent across the entire collection.
